Bengaluru: Disqualified Congress and Janata Dal Secular MLAs will be given BJP tickets for by-poll if they wish, said Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Monday, in the midst of increasing resistance within the party to any such move. Yediyurappa said party chief Amit Shah said that giving tickets to the former MLAs was "our duty." The rebellion by the then MLAs had resulted to the collapse of the government of Congress-JDS in July, paving the way for the BJP to return to power in Karnataka. In December, by-elections are scheduled for the constituencies held by them.
