Congress appoints 14 district chiefs in Delhi

The Congress on Saturday appointed 14 new presidents to its district committees in Delhi to strengthen its base in the national capital where it faced a rout in the February assembly polls.

 
The appointments were approved by Congress president Sonia Gandhi, a party release said.
 
The new district presidents are: Surinder Kumar (Kirari), Inderjit Singh (Rohini), Surinder Pal Singh Bitto (Karawal Nagar), Beesham Sharma (Babarpur), Sunil Vohra (Krishna Nagar), Lakshman Rawat (Patparganj), Harkishan Jindal (Adarsh Nagar), Mirza Usman (Chandni Chowk), Madan Khorwal (Karol Bagh), Virender Kasana (New Delhi), Om Dut Yadav (Najafgarh), Pradeep Sharma (Tilak Nagar), Rajesh Chauhan (Mehrauli) and Ram Singh Netaji (Badarapur).
