Dr M K Harikrishnan, a social worker from Vile Parle has been honoured with Rajiv Gandhi Pariyavaran Bhooshan award for the year 2013-14 by MPCC President Manikrao Thakre, at an award function held recently at Tilak Bhavan in Mumbai.

 

The award comes as a great initiative for Harikrishnan, who has been an environmentalist since last 15 years. “The award means a lot for me. It gives me an opportunity to work even harder to protect our environment,” says Harikrishnan who was actively involved in saving Bandra creek from various anti-social elements.

 

Harikrishnan has also formed an NGO called CARE (Centre for Advanced Research in Environment), “The main motto of the NGO is to help protect environment and spread awareness amongst people about climate change and global warming.”
