Exit Polls Forecast Big Win for NDA, Major Setback for Grand Alliance

New Delhi: The Bihar Assembly elections 2025, which saw record turnout in both phases on the 6th and 11th of November, are expected to result in a landslide victory for the BJP-led NDA and a setback for the RJD and Congress-led Mahagathbandhan (grand alliance) in the high-stakes electoral battle, according to most exit polls released on Tuesday.

A succession of pollsters who shared their estimates for the high-octane election in Bihar predicted a comfortable victory for the BJP-led NDA, with it easily crossing the halfway mark of 122 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan appeared to be struggling to get past the 100 mark.

Exit polls also forecast a surprise for the latest entrant, Prashant Kishor-led Jan Suraaj, which has positioned itself as the state’s ‘third alternative’.
Seven polling agencies predict that the BJP-led NDA will return to power with a clear majority, with three holding its top margin above 160. Most expect the Mahagathbandhan to be limited to double digits, with some predicting a margin of roughly 100 seats.

Other parties, like Owaisi’s AIMIM, Kishor’s Jan Suraaj, and Independents, are unlikely to have an impact on exit polls because they are on the margins and could only win 2-8 seats in the 243-member Assembly.

According to Chankya Strategies, the NDA is expected to win 130-138 seats, Mahagathbandhan a respectable 100-108 seats, and others 3-5 seats. Jan Suraaj is drawing a duck, according to its findings.

Dainik Bhaskar predicts 73-91 seats for the Mahagathbandhan, 145-160 for the NDA, and 5-7 seats for others.

As reported by Polstrat, the NDA is predicted to lead with 133-148 seats and 44.71 percent of the vote, while the MGB alliance is expected to get 87-102 seats and 40.34 percent of the vote.

As per DV Research, the NDA is expected to win 137-152 seats, with Mahagathbandhan winning 83-98 seats and others winning 1-8 seats.

Exit surveys conducted by JVC and People’s Insight reveal identical projections for both significant players, NDA and MGB. The JVC forecasts 135-150 seats for the NDA and 88-103 for the Mahagathbandhan, whereas People’s Insight predicts 133-148 seats for the NDA and 87-102 seats for the Mahagathbandhan. Both see other parties, notably Jan Suraaj, as non-players, with 3-6 seats predicted for each.

Based on IANS-Matrize exit polls, the NDA is expected to win 147-167 seats, with the Mahagathbandhan’s share reduced to 70-90.
