Puri, Odisha: On Teachers’ Day, Padma Shri awardee Sudarsan Pattnaik created a 5-foot sand sculpture of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan at Puri Beach, Odisha. Using about 6 tons of sand, the artwork carried the message “Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwara, Guru Sakshat Param Brahma, Tasmai Shri Gurave Namah.” Students of his sand art institute joined in making the tribute. Sudarsan Pattnaik honoured Dr. Radhakrishnan and saluted all teachers for shaping lives with wisdom and compassion.
