New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia will hold a “padayatra” on August 14, during which he will also interact with the people of the national capital, the party’s General Secretary, Sandeep Pathak, announced on Sunday. This comes nearly eighteen months after the Supreme Court granted Sisodia bail concerning the Delhi excise policy case.

Speaking to reporters during a press conference held here, Pathak stated that Sisodia will now meet with the party MLAs in Delhi on Monday following his meeting with senior AAP leaders on Sunday. On Tuesday, he will meet with party council members.

Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, will decide whether Sisodia will rejoin the Delhi administration and what role he will hold. The AAP has left this up to him.

Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP convenor and Delhi’s chief minister has been incarcerated in Tihar jail for several months in connection with the excise policy case.

Sisodia was also in jail in connection with the same case.

Sisodia served as Delhi’s deputy chief minister and held significant positions in the finance and education ministries before imprisonment.

Sisodia hosted a crucial meeting at his home on Sunday with key party leaders before the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections.

The AAP National General Secretary said, “It has become clear to the people of the country that the Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have only one agenda: to stop the AAP and split it. Despite this, the party is strong and doing good work.”

“The AAP has come out even stronger, now we will meet the people of Delhi,” he added.
