New Delhi : The Congress appointed Rajya Sabha MP Kumari Selja as the party's head of Haryana state, while former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda became the leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) and the chairman of the party election committee. Selja will replace Ashok Tanwar, Chief of the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee. Tanwar was named leader of Congress Rahul Gandhi in 2014. Haryana affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad made the announcement at a press conference. Selja, a four-time MP – twice from Sirsa and twice from Ambala – lost this year’s Lok Sabha elections from the Ambala constituency.
