ME News Bureau: Ranchi: A special CBI court has convicted Lalu Prasad Yadav, former Bihar chief minister, while acquitted Jagannath Mishra, another former chief minister of the state, in the fodder scam case.

While a total of 15 people were found guilty including Lalu Prasad Yadav in the fodder scam, by the court, seven were declared innocent including Mishra.

The court will pronounce quantum of sentence on January 3, 2018 for all those held guilty.

The case relates to alleged deceitful withdrawal of Rs 89.27 lakh from the Deoghar Treasury between 1991 and 1994. Overall, over Rs 900 crore was reportedly siphoned off from the Chaibasa treasury for a period stretching to two decades.
