Jaipur: Satish Poonia was named the new Rajasthan BJP president, the party announced on Saturday. The leader is regarded close to his ideological mentor, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, who is also the spokesman of the party in the state. Mr Poonia, 55, is the MLA from Amber constituency of Jaipur district.Mr Poonia is also an influential leader of the Jat community, one of the biggest vote banks in the state.
