Mumbai: Maharashtra's chief minister, Devendra Fadnavis, stated on Thursday that the BJP –Shiv Senaalliance's victory in the upcoming elections was certain and that every effort would be made to guarantee that RPI (A) candidates achieved victory.

Fadnavis said the opposition's assertion that the BJP is planning to alter the Constitution and end the job and education reservation scheme was not true. "For us, the Constitution is the Bhagavad Gita, Bible and Quran. No one can think of altering the Constitution when rulers like Athawale are with us," he said. Fadnavis said B R Ambedkar had opposed inclusion of Article 370 in the Constitution that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
