Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's tweet calling on women to vote in large numbers and discuss their preference with the men in the family prompted a sharp attack on Saturday by Union minister Smriti Irani. Kejriwal's special appeal came against the backdrop of his party's assessment that his campaign, which had targeted women voters across all age groups in particular, was a success. Union minister Smriti Irani, however, interpreted the special appeal from the chief minister to imply that women should not vote without consulting male family members. "Do you not think women are adequately capable of deciding who to vote on their own?"Irani responded with the #AntiWomenKejriwal hashtag in a tweet.
