Hockey World League Final ticket sales start

Hockey India (HI) Wednesday announced the commencement of ticket sales for the World League Final to be held at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium here Jan 10-18.
The tickets can be booked online at www.ticketgenie.in. These have been priced at Rs.50 for general admission and Rs.1,000 for VIP seating. Each ticket entitles the spectator to watch all matches being held on the same day in the 16,000 capacity stadium. Tickets can also be bought from 16 24X7 retail stores and 14 mobile Stores across Delhi National Capital Region.
“Top teams of the world will be seen in action during the World League Final. They are slated to play in the forthcoming 2014 FIH World Cup. We are looking forward to the participation of hockey fans to come and encourage the teams,” HI secretary general Narinder Batra said.
The tournament will see eight teams playing 24 matches. India are placed in Pool A with Germany, England and New Zealand while Australia, Netherlands, Belgium and Argentina are placed in Pool B.
The hosts will open their campaign against England Jan 10 followed by New Zealand (Jan 11) and Germany (Jan 13). All India matches in the pool stage will be played at 8 p.m.
The event will be used to decide which teams will qualify alongside the continental champions and the hosts for future Olympic Games and FIH World Cups.
