Infosys opens office in Netherlands

Indian IT bellwether Infosys Ltd. Friday opened a back office at Eindhoven in the Netherlands to provide business process outsourcing (BPO) services to clients across Europe.
"We will deliver business processes such as finance and accounting to our clients and provide end-to-end outsourcing services in Dutch, English, French and German from the new centre," the global software major said in a statement here.
The 120-seat back office will also enable the company's BPO subsidiary to respond efficiently to client needs for accelerated solutions across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
"The new delivery centre will serve as a regional hub and strengthen our ability to cater to client needs across functions, languages and time zones with greater flexibility," Infosys BPO chief executive Gautam Thakkar said in the statement.
The company chose to set up the back office at Eindhoven due to availability of talented workforce and a positive environment fostered by the Dutch government.
"The favorable business environment created by the Netherlands foreign investment agency, Brabant development agency and Brainport development and availability of skilled workforce with multi-linguistic capabilities made Eindhoven an ideal location for us to set up the new centre," Thakkar pointed out.
"For Eindhoven and Brabant, Infosys investment means a great mix of retaining jobs with the prospect of more employment opportunities for our workforce," Brabant development agency project manager Lars de Vries said on the occasion.
