Nita Ambani invited to US cancer institute board

Reliance Foundation chairperson Nita Ambani has been invited to join the board of visitors at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Centre, as it leads the global fight against this killer disease and in helping affected families.
According to a statement issued by the foundation, the Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital run by it here, which was re-dedicated to Mumbai by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last week, already has a tie-up with the MD Anderson Cancer Centre.
“By giving your time, talents and treasure, you (Ambani) will help advance the institution’s mission to eliminate cancer — and ultimately make a significant difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families,” said Melvyn N. Klein, chairman of the centre.
The Reliance Foundation chairperson, in turn, said looked forward to drawing on the expertise and capabilities of MD Anderson Cancer Centre to provide better care for cancer patients in India and promote ground-breaking research to defeat cancer.
