Headingley, England: The English cricket team has taken a lead in the Anderson-Tendulkar series by defeating India in the first Test match at Headingley. During this, in the post-match press conference, Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir expressed disappointment over the batting.
He said that catches are dropped during the match, even the world’s best fielders have dropped catches. Regarding batting, he said that batting was disappointing in this match. If we had scored around 600 runs in the first innings itself, we could have taken the lead. Defending the new bowlers brought into the team, he said that they did not have much experience playing Test matches, and so, “We will have to support them.”
