Indian shares register significant gains on Friday, despite weak global cues triggered by Portugal's top-listed bank crisis. The Indian rupee, however, opened lower after weakening to 60.19 against the dollar yesterday.
Paring early gains, the benchmark S&P BSE Sensex is currently up 31 points or 0.12 percent at 25,404. The broader CNX Nifty index, meanwhile, is up 9 points or 0.1 percent at 7,577.
