In the early hours of Thursday 19 people died in an accident in Avinashi, Tirupur District, when a container lorry from Coimbatore to Salem and a passenger bus from Bengaluru to Kochi collided. In another road accident in Salem district in Tamil Nadu, five persons died when the van in which they were travelling and another bus collided.
