Srinagar:In the next few months, the Jammu and Kashmir Government will fill 50,000 vacancies in various government departments. This was announced by Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Press Conference in Raj Bhavan.He encouraged the youth to come forward and take an active part in this recruitment process, as this would be the biggest single recruitment drive ever in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. He also announced that his government was working with multiple central organizations to set up a system to provide a minimum support price for apple crops in the state and that NAFED was prepared to spend more than Rs 5,000 Crores to purchase more than 50 per cent of apple production in the state. This would benefit more than 7 lakh apple farmers. The Governor also announced that, in order to provide relief to the individuals, it had been decided to open mobile phones in all 10 districts of Jammu (barring one place) and that mobile phones would also be operational in the entire revenue district of the Kupwara and Handwara Police districts in the Kashmir Valley. The government has already announced opening of landline connections in the Kashmir valley.
