BJP govt is going to rest

Gorakhpur: On Sunday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the previous "insensitive" governments did not worry about youth, traders, and peasants. "We used to sell and shut sugar mills, but the BJP government is running closed sugar mills and setting up new ones," he said after opening a sugar mill with a daily crushing capacity of 50,000 quintals and a 27 MW co-generation facility in Pipraich, Gorakhpur.

Addressing a public meeting in Gorakhpur, he said that the `closure' of this sugar mill in Pipraich started in 2008 and was shut down completely in 2010-11. "We had demonstrations about this, and all the BJP and Hindu Yuva Vahini activists ' regional leaders were involved in it," he said. Yogi also said, "When we formed the government in 2017, the decision was taken at the very first meeting to set up a new sugar mill in Pipraich." Closing a sugar mill means making 50,000 farmers unemployed and another 1,000 young people unemployed, he said.
