Mumbai: The rivalry between the BJP-Shiv Sena, festering since the outcome of the Maharashtra election 15 days ago, escalated considerably after Devendra Fadnavis resigned as chief minister on Friday, hours before the end of the government formation deadline. Every accused the other of lying with BJP president Amit Shah earlier this year about a "50:50" deal that the Shiv Sena claims was discussed. But the relationship wasn't over yet, both parties said. "I'm not going to talk to them until they believe what they're saying. I'm not going to talk to those who consider me a liar," Thackeray said, who had let Sanjay Raut of his party do most of the talk in the last couple of days. "I challenge the BJP to form a government in Maharashtra as soon as possible, otherwise each party has the right to form its own combination and form a government," the Sena chief said, asking the leadership of the BJP to continue the alliance.
