Amaravati: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader N Chandrababu Naidu was placed under preventive custody on Wednesday morning at a time when he and his party workers were scheduled to take part in the ' Chalo Atmakur ' rally. After the house arrest, the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister sat on a hunger strike to protest the move. Naidu sat fast around 8 a.m. and will continue until 8 p.m. His son was also placed under preventive custody at their residence following an altercation with the police. Meanwhile, party leaders and workers on their way to Naidu's residence were stopped by the police and taken into preventive custody. Section 144 was also enforced in Narasaraopeta, Sattenapalle, Palnadu and Gurajala.
