Kolkata: In the Saradha chit fund scam, former Kolkata chief of police Rajeev Kumar was provided protection from arrest by the Calcutta High Court. The IPS officer is accused when he headed the probe of destroying proof linked to the Ponzi scheme.

The high court said that if he is arrested by the CBI, he will immediately be granted bail on two Rs. 50,000 each sureties. Kumar is not allowed to leave Kolkata by the court.
