Amethi :Congressman Rahul Gandhi made an impassioned statement to the individuals on Wednesday that he would never break his connections with Amethi, the consitucy he lost in the latest Lok Sabha elections to BJP's Smriti Irani.

"My connection with Amethi is private, not political. Victory and defeat are part of political life, but I'm never going to leave Amethi," Gandhi said at a conference.

Gandhi told party employees to stay ready for a lengthy fight to resurrect Congress and said he'd be standing by all of them.

The meeting was attended by more than 15,000 individuals, for which only 1,200 were invited. The conference took place at the Institute of Nirmala Devi. 

Gandhi had previously attended Congressman Ganga Prasad Gupta's home, who had lately died and given condolences.
