Mumbai: On Friday, the Maharashtra government announced a new bill that would provide Muslims with a 5 percent quota at educational institutions across the state. The bill was announced by Maharashtra Minority Affairs Minister Nawab Malik who said it would be introduced at the legislative assembly's ongoing budget session. Malik said that the introduction of the bill is in line with an earlier nod of the same by the Mumbai High Court.
