After a building collapsed inside the Coimbatore railway station due to heavy rains, at least 2 individuals died. The parcel service building on the railway collapsed on Thursday around 4AM. Both the dead originated from Mettupalayam and were employees at that site, according to reports.

After the building crashed, the railway officials notified the officials concerned and rescue employees and fire department men arrived at the place quickly to speed up rescue activities. The wounded have been rushed to Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital where two have been declared dead. From Wednesday night, Coimbatore received heavy rainfall.
