On Friday, authorities enforced constraints on the death anniversary of a local militant in a Srinagar region to avoid separatist demonstrations.

Police sources said constraints were imposed on militant Sajad Ahmad Gilkar's second anniversary of death in the Nowhatta region of Old City Srinagar.

Policing and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) deployments were heavy in the region.
