Thane: Addressing an election rally for BJP's Mira Bhayander candidate Narendra Mehta in the neighbouring Mumbai district of Thane, Maharashtra, Singh defended conducting ' ' shastra puja '' after recently taking delivery of the first Rafale aircraft in France. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also said on Monday that the IAF would not have needed to enter Balakot in Pakistan to strike the terror camps if India had already possessed Rafale fighter jets.  Singh clarified that only for self-defence and not for provocation were the fighter planes intended. He also praised Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for his performance.
