Governor Acharya Devvrat Attends Navy Day ‘Beating Retreat’ in Mumbai

Mumbai: Maharashtra and Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat joined the Western Naval Command’s ‘Beating Retreat’ and Tattoo Ceremony at the Gateway of India, Mumbai, as part of the Indian Navy Day celebrations on December 10. The event showcased naval traditions, discipline, and musical performances.

The impressive event featured breathtaking performances by the naval central band, the Beating Retreat Ceremony, a helicopter flypast, a continuity drill by naval personnel, and a Hornpipe Sailor’s Dance performed by girls from the Sea Cadet Corps.

Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, AVSM, VSM, the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command, along with serving and retired officers of the Indian Navy and invitees from various walks of life, was present at the ceremony.

Governor Devvrat also attended the At Home reception hosted by Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan at the Navy House in honour of Navy Day. During the reception, the Governor extended his Navy Day greetings to the serving officers and veterans in attendance.
