Mumbai: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, accompanied by Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, met Maharashtra Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai, on Tuesday (26 November).
The Chief Minister tendered the resignation of his post and that of his cabinet to the Governor on this occasion.
The Governor has asked the Chief Minister to continue in charge of his post until alternate arrangements are made.
Ministers Deepak Kesarkar and Dadaji Bhuse were also present.
The 2024 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election was held on November 20, 2024, to elect all 288 members of the state’s Legislative Assembly for the 15th Maharashtra Legislature. The election turnout was the highest since 1995, at 66.05%. The ruling Maha Yuti scored a resounding victory with 235 seats, and none of the Maha Vikas Aghadi parties had enough seats to be elected opposition leader for the first time in six decades.
