Mumbai: Maharashtra Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan released the UNICEF ‘State of the World’s Children Report—2024: The Future of Childhood in a Changing World’ on Monday at Raj Bhavan Mumbai, in the inspiring presence of two young climate champions.
This year’s report presents a perspective on how three significant factors — demographic changes, climate and environmental crises, and breakthrough technologies — are likely to impact children’s lives by 2050 and beyond. The report also highlights key findings such as the projected increase in child mortality due to climate-related disasters and the potential benefits of technological advancements in improving children’s health and education.
The chief of UNICEF Maharashtra, Sanjay Singh, UNICEF officers Yusuf Kabir and Swati Mahapatra, and climate champions Gurpreet Kaur and Pooja Vishwakarma were present.
