Puthiyottu Kandi Balan Nair, 90, left for his heavenly abode on April 5, 2020, at 4 p.m. Balan was a mind-boggling personality in many ways. He was a fatherly figure for his entire "Tharavadu". He lived with his adored spouse Smt. Kamalakashi Amma, sons Padmakumar and Surendran, and daughters Premalatha, Subhashini, Mini and Jaya. In his early days. Balan served as an Adhikari in his village and was a senior member in the Congress party as President of Thamarasseri Panchayat and Block president of Thamarasseri. He was an active social worker known for his perceptiveness, dependability, compassion, and many other abilities. Balan was versatile and had endurance and rose to the occasion whenever it necessitated. He was a familiar bliss for all of us. Our utmost sympathy and blessings to the surviving members of his family, may his soul rest in peace.
