A Delhi court has sent Riyasat, an accused in the recent Delhi riots to jail. His name cropped up during the interrogation of suspended AAP councillor Tahir Hussain. The accused was produced in Karkardooma court in Delhi and Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Pawan Singh Rajawat directed him to be sent to judicial custody.
Riyasat and another accused Liyakat were arrested by CBI on March 7 for their involvement in the riots northeast Delhi's Chand Bagh. Tahir Hussain is in police custody for his involvement in killing of intelligence bureau officer Ankit Sharma and for supporting riots.
