Income Tax Department has conducted raids at the residences of prominent Bollywood personalities filmmakers Anurag Kashyap and Vikas Bahl and actress Taapsee Pannu. The raid was related to Phantom Films, a film production and distribution company floated by Anurag Kashyap, director Vikramaditya Motwane, producer Madhu Mantena, and Vikas Bahl. The company ceased its operations in 2018.

Income Tax Department carried out searches at 22 places in Mumbai and Pune including Kwan Talent management besides the Bollywood personalities. As per Income Tax Department these Bollywood personalities were making money but not filing proper income tax.

Meanwhile Congress and NCP leaders told media that the development was the fallout of some Bollywood personalities criticizing central government policies.
