Mumbai: Maharashtra Governor and Chancellor Acharya Devvrat presided over a workshop with vice chancellors at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai, focusing on NEP 2020 and Vision Maharashtra 2047.
The governor emphasised value-based education and global competitiveness and urged universities to form task forces for fortnightly progress reporting. He called for stronger teacher-student bonds and active student participation in sports, NCC, NSS, and industry-linked courses. Regular training and cultural sensitisation were also highlighted.
The governor stressed collaborative efforts among government, education departments, and universities to make Maharashtra a model education state.
Higher Education Minister Chandrakant Patil briefed the Governor on university status, while ACS Venu Gopal Reddy presented a roadmap to make Maharashtra an “Education Hub” by 2047.
Vice Chancellors of the State universities, director of Higher Education Shailendra Deolankar, Technical Education director Vinod Mohitkar, director of Art Department Kishor Ingole and others were present.
