11-Year-Old Boy Enters Talent Book of Records as Youngest Director for Cultural Short Film

Mumbai: An 11-year-old boy, Amal Aravindan, has made headlines after directing a short film. The young filmmaker has been officially recognised in the Talent Book of Records for directing the pioneering cultural short film “Pootham Varavayi,” marking a major milestone for emerging talent in his cinematic journey.

The record certificate was presented by Guinness Sathar Adoor at a ceremony held at the Erumapetty Press Club. This short film depicts the life of a child embodying a traditional Pootham, skillfully merging elements of ritual, culture, and professional filmmaking techniques. Plans are underway for the film to be shown in schools throughout Kerala via Smart Rooms during the 2026 academic year.

Amal is the son of Aravindan Nelluvai.
