Himachal to use fish to tackle mosquitoes

Himachal Pradesh is preparing a project to introduce larvae-eating fish in stagnant waters across the state to fight the mosquito menace, an official statement quoting Health Minister Kaul Singh said Wednesday.
Presiding over a meeting of the National Vectors Borne Diseases Control Programme here, the minister said the introduction of the gambusia fish would help combat the mosquito population.
Gambusia fish kills the larva of vectors where they breed in ponds and stagnant waters.
