MUMBAI: Sri Shankara Mattham Matunga conducted Varuna Japam to appease rain God to get enough rain to save people and farmers from water shortage. Five Vedic pandits conducted this prayer by standing in chest deep water in drums and recited Varuna Japam for nearly two hours. Before this, they performed Varuna pooja in the Matt premises.
