As the election results unfold in five states which is considered to be as a semi-final for the general election in 2019, the Congress party surges ahead in Rajasthan and Chattisgarh while giving a top fight in Madhya Pradesh. The current election results come as a shocker to the BJP as they were expecting a dominant performance in the major Hindi states.

Meanwhile K Chandrashekar Rao's Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) has routed the Congress and the BJP in Telangana while the Mizo National Front (MNF) raised to power in Mizoram with a well ahead majority.
