JD(U)’s Rajeev Ranjan Predicts Decisive NDA Victory in Bihar Assembly Elections

New Delhi: JD(U) National Spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan on Friday expressed strong confidence in the NDA’s performance, asserting that the alliance is poised for a clear and decisive win in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. He said voter sentiment is firmly in favour of the NDA’s governance and development agenda.

“From the very first round of counting today, you will see that the NDA is heading for a tremendous victory. Once again, an NDA government will be formed, Nitish Kumar will become the Chief Minister of Bihar, and the opposition will be completely defeated,” Ranjan told IANS, expressing optimism about the outcome.

Meanwhile, BJP candidate Raju Kumar Singh also projected confidence, stating, “Everyone knows that we will come out victorious in the counting. We have been serving the people for the past 20 years and will continue to do so in the future.”

Amidst complex and multi-tiered security measures, Bihar’s 243 Assembly constituencies are currently counting their votes. Postal ballots were counted at 8 a.m., and electronic voting machines (EVMs) were counted at 8:30 a.m. A rigorous security perimeter has been put in place throughout the state’s 46 counting locations spread across 38 districts.

The Bihar Police and district-level police teams are in charge of the outer perimeter, while the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) oversee the inside security perimeter surrounding strongrooms and counting halls. Furthermore, more than 106 companies of foreign security forces have been sent in. Since the polls ended, strongrooms—where EVMs and VVPATs are sealed—have been continuously monitored by CCTV around the clock.

To maintain transparency, candidates and their authorised agents have been permitted to keep an eye on the areas beyond the inner security cordon. With careful attention to procedures for postal ballots, EVMs, and VVPAT verification, the Election Commission has made sure that the counting process is carried out equitably.

Political parties and their followers are keeping a careful eye on the counting rounds as the state awaits the results, hoping for a definitive decision that will influence Bihar’s administration for the upcoming term. The high-stakes election has garnered national attention, with security, openness, and process adherence being prioritised.
