Mumbai: The chief minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, affirmed today that the BJP and the Shiv Sena will contest together for the assembly elections next month. The chief minister also said he was confident that after the elections he would maintain the post. He rejected press reports that out of a total of 288 seats, the BJP will contest 162 and the Sena 126. An announcement on the formula for seat sharing would be made in a few days. Maharashtra will go for election on October 21. Counting of votes will be done on October 24.
