Islamabad, Dec 2: Despite provoking India at the borders and within through continued shelling and support for infiltrating terrorists, Pakistan media is now stating that their ministers have reminded India of its obligation to be fulfilled under the Indus Water Treaty. It also stated that trade relations with India remain unchanged despite growing border tensions between the two neighbouring nations. 

The Pakistani media stated that the Government has reminded the Indian authorities that, ‘ their own credibility will suffer if the accord is violated and that Pakistan will take the case to International court of Justice and IMF if the treaty is violated in any form.  
 
 Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said at the weekly media briefing: "India has to abide by its international obligations, if it wants to be taken seriously by the international community since the treaty is a binding agreement under the Vienna Convention.”
 
He was commenting on Thursday evening about Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks that the water that "rightfully belongs to India" under the water sharing accord could not be allowed to go to Pakistan.
 
Pakistani Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir meanwhile responded to the issue of trade ties with India while addressing the Senate Standing Committee on textile industries that though a huge quantity of cotton was stopped at the Karachi Port, trade ties remain unchanged with India. He further said the government should instead ban value-added products from India in a bid to protect the local textile industry.
