New Delhi, Dec 14: Thanks to her upbeat and proactive Twitter diplomacy, Sushma Swaraj has been named top Global Thinker amongst 14 others, of the year by Foreign Policy magazine. The magazine praised her for efficiently using the social media platform to reach out to people across the globe and help them find solutions to problems related to foreign affairs ministry.
Sushma Swaraj for instance helped close to 10,000 starving migrant workers in the Gulf in July this year. The Prime Minister of India was one of the first to congratulate the foreign minister for the feat even as she is recuperating from a kidney transplant at AIIMS. Despite her illness the minister has been kept updated regarding all matters pertaining to the ministry and she even sought help for a migrant in saudi who had to walk a 100 ams to get justice.
Ever since she had taken over office in 2014 her office has tirelessly not just responded for pleas of help on Twitter but she has taken prompt action to ensure that people’s problems are solved too. Her work helped everyone who came in her contact including Pakistani nationals seeking visas to either come to India for their wedding or for medical treatment.
She was one of the most laudable voices this year at UNSC where she took on th Pakistani PM charges and called his bluff by stating that Pakistan is the root cause of terrorism in South Asia.
Even as she recovers, her work ethics remain the same and she continues to complete her work from the hospital too.
