Air India to increase Birmingham-Delhi flights

National passenger carrier Air India Saturday said that it plans to increase the flight frequency of its Delhi-Birmingham flights to daily services from four times a week.
Currently, Air India operates from Birmingham each Saturday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday on its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, which has a 256 split seat cabin consisting of 18 business class and 238 economy seats.
Air India said that it has committed to increase its Birmingham-Delhi-Amritsar operation from four flights per week to daily services from November, when its 18th Boeing 787 ‘Dreamliner’ aircraft is inducted into service.
The airline started operations to Birmingham Airport on August 1, 2013.
The daily service will provide an extra 1,500 seats a week and give passengers greater choice, flexibility and opportunity to travel from Birmingham airport to Delhi and Amritsar.
The airline said that it also plans to have connectivity to Gorakhpur and resume the third direct flight between Delhi-Kochi from Dec 16, 2014.
Recently, to promote tourism and business, Air India introduced four weekly flights from Goa to Moscow via Delhi.
Currently, Air India has 17 Boeing 787 Dreamliners in its fleet, most of them deployed to international destinations.
