BHEL wins Rs.2,569 crore order from Neyveli Lignite

State-run heavy equipment-maker BHEL Friday said it has bagged a Rs.2,569 crore contract from Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) for supplying equipment for its 1,000 MW thermal power project in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu.
"In the face of stiff international competitive bidding, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has bagged a prestigious contract for supply of Steam Generator Package for two thermal units of 500 MW each," BHEL said in a release.
The steam generators will be the "highest rating" pulverised lignite-fired steam generators in the country, it added.
The company has earlier secured orders from NLC for their 2×500 MW Tuticorin, 2×250 MW Neyveli and 2×125 MW Barsingsar projects.
BHEL has established the capability to deliver power plant equipment of 20,000 MW per annum, it said.
