After missing out on the podium in two out of the last four races, Mercedes completed an impressive one-two at Suzuka, with Hamilton extending his lead atop the drivers' standings to 48 points over Rosberg.

Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel finished in third place, while Australia's Daniel Ricciardo battled to 15th after puncturing a tyre in a collision with Felipe Massa on the opening lap.
