Lalit Modi elected Rajasthan cricket president

Lalit Modi is back on the Indian cricket scene as elected president of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) after the Supreme Court (SC) appointed observers announced the poll results here Tuesday.
The Supreme Court last week asked its observers, former apex court judges Justice N.M. Kasliwal and Justice S.P.Pathak to release the results of the elections, which were held Dec 19. The votes, cast by 33 district units, were submitted to the apex court in a sealed envelope by the observers. Lalit Modi reportedly got 24 votes.
Former Indian Premier League commissioner Modi, who is living in self-exile in London, was banned for life by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in September 2013 on charges of "indiscipline and misconduct".
The SC also said that anyone, including the BCCI, if aggrieved at the outcome of Modi's win, could challenge this before the concerned authority.
