RInfra partners Innovari to launch ADR scheme to control power wastage

Integrated power distribution company Reliance Infrastructure Thursday said it has tied up with US-based Innovari Inc for the pilot implementation of the Automatic Demand Response (ADR) programme in its licensed distribution area.
Using the ADR programme, high-end consumers can now voluntarily control their unwarranted power consumption and reduce their monthly electricity bills, the company said in a statement.
High end consumers like ITC Hotels, Unilever Ltd., Jacob Engineering, Raghuleela Mall, Chemtex, Acme Shelters along with RInfra are already participating in the pilot programme.
"We are pleased to launch ADR programme for our Mumbai consumers. They can now plan and reduce unwarranted energy usage at their premises which will facilitate balancing the electric demand during peak hours.
"Industrial, commercial and heavy-use residential categories will now be able to save up to 20 per cent on their billing," said Lalit Jalan, CEO, Reliance Infrastructure Ltd.
This would help in reducing spiking power procurement costs. All these will overall reduce desired power consumption during peak hour resulting in reduction in bills. They will also get financial incentives for enrolling in this programme, he added.
