Sensex trades flat; healthcare stocks rally

A benchmark index of Indian equities markets on Wednesday was trading flat at 22.90 points or 0.09 percent up as healthcare stocks rallied.

Good buying was observed in healthcare and oil and gas sectors, while selling pressure was seen in capital goods sector.

The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 25,861.47 points, was trading at 25,903.67 points (at 09.27 a.m.) in the early session, up 22.90 points or 0.09 percent from the previous day's close at 25,880.77 points.

The Sensex has touched a high of 25,904.68 points and a low of 25,850.51 points in the trade so far.

The S&P BSE healthcare index surged by 122.27 points and oil and gas sector went up by 110.83 points, while capital goods index went down by 145.50 points.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 1.40 points or 0.02 percent up at 7,728.45 points.
