Sensex trades flat; metal stocks dip

A benchmark index of Indian equities markets on Tuesday was trading flat at 6.02 points or 0.02 percent down as metal stocks dipped.

Good buying was observed in capital goods and healthcare sectors, while selling pressure was seen in metal and banking sectors.

The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 26,854.90 points, was trading at 26,810.54 points (at 09.22 a.m.) in the early session, down 6.02 points or 0.02 percent from the previous day's close at 26,816.56 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 26,861.29 points and a low of 26,765.96 points in the trade so far.

The S&P BSE capital goods index gained 80.46 points and healthcare index moved up 78.01 points; while metal index was down by 46.40 points and bankex dipped by 29.58 points.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also was trading flat at 7.25 points or 0.09 percent down at 8,034.75 points.
