Skoda launches new version of Rapid

Automobile manufacturer Skoda Auto India Thursday launched new version of its sedan Rapid in petrol and diesel engine options.
According to the company the sedan's petrol version is preiced between Rs. 7.22 lakh and 8.85 lakh for manual transmission, while automatic gear variant costs from 9.14 lakh to 9.81 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Deisesl powered version in manual transmission comes start at Rs.8.38 lakh and the automatic version has a starting price of Rs.10.34 lakh.
“The newly launched Rapid reflects our commitment to introduce innovative products of global standards in India,” Sudhir Rao, chairman and managing director, Skoda Auto India said.
Rao added that the company has recently refreshed all its model offering in the country.
The major change in the facelift variant is the 1.5 litre TDI diesel engine, which generates a peak power of 103 bhp and is mated to a seven-speed dual clutch DSG transmission with manual and automatic options.
The new vehicle also features cruise control, electronic stability program (ESP) and reverse parking sensors.
